PH70436: DESPITE A SYSTEM ABEND OCCURRING IN THE HPCABAT0 MODULE, THE HPCAMAIN PROGRAM TERMINATES WITH A RETURN CODE OF 0

Error description

• This problem occurs during extended batch processing (
  PGM=HPCAMAIN ) when a system ABEND occurs in the HPCABAT0
  module. The HPCAMAIN program calls the HPCABAT0 as a subtask.
  When a system ABEND occurs in HPCABAT0, HPCAMAIN receives the
  ABEND code. However, it sets the STEP return code to RC=0000
  because it does not correctly handle the received ABEND code.

  Even if a system ABEND occurs in HPCABAT0, the extended batch
  (HPCAMAIN program) still terminates with RC=00.
  
  The HPCAMAIN program attaches HPCABAT0 as a subtask. When a
  system ABEND occurs in HPCABAT0, the HPCAMAIN program receives
  the system ABEND code. However, the error handling logic in
  HPCAMAIN is incorrect, causing it to terminate by setting the
  JOB step return code to zero.
  

Problem conclusion

• In the event of a system ABEND, the error handling logic for
  HPCABAT0 in extended batch mode has been modified to set the
  final RC to 20.
