Local fix

Problem summary

  • Customer wants to STOP REPLICATION for several subscriptions,
then run STOP REPLICATION ... CAPTURE after the preceeding STOP
    REPLICATIONs have completed.

Problem conclusion

  • Demonstration code is provided.

The demonstration code consists of a REXX script and a JCL file.

The REXX Script (USERSAMP(CECBCPRX)) will parse the output from
the Batch Command Processor and generate commands for a
subsequent step to use the Batch Command Processor to wait on
    previous commands.

    The JCL (USERSAMP(CECBCPJB)) job will:

Step BCP01: Use the BCP to execute 2 STOP REPLICATION commands
    in parallel.
Step GETTOKN1: Use the REXX script to generate the correct WAIT
    commands
Step DBG01: Print the generated commands (optional).
Step BCP02: Use the BCP to run the commands generated by BCP01
Step BCP03: Use the BCP to run 2 STOP REPLICATION ... CAPTURE
    commands.
Step GETTOKN1: Use the REXX script to generate the correct WAIT
    commands.
Step BCP02: Use the BCP to run the WAIT commands generated by
    GETTOKN1
Note that the STOP REPLICATION commands will run in parallel and
the STOP REPLICAION ... CAPTURE commands will not start until
after both STOP REPLICATION commands have completed.

You will need to modify the JCL to run the correct BCP Commands
    for your use case.
You may need to modify the REXX script to generate WAIT commands
that are appropriate for your use case.
