Error description

  • START CHANNEL SYSID(SYSB) NOCHECK commands cause SYSB to go SOS
in 31-bit storage when SYSA and SYSB are connected via MRO.
This happens because the mirror task that runs on SYSB does not
delete the channel it receives from SYSA. This causes the
PGCRCB, PGCPCB, PGCHCB and PGCSCB sub-pools in the ECDSA to
    grow and grow in size.

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A short on storage condition in ECDSA *
    * when using MRO or LU6.2 START CHANNEL *
    * with the NOCHECK option. *
    ****************************************************************
Transactions started on a target region connected over MRO or
LU6.2 using START CHANNEL commands with the NOCHECK option cause
storage leaks in the ECDSA. The leak is observed in the PGCRCB,
    PGCPCB, PGCHCB, and PGCSCB subpools.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHAPPG has been updated to ensure that channel and container
subpool storage is always freed after completing a transaction
started using the START option with NOCHECK.
