Error description
MQ application for an MQ cluster queue returns with MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED MQRC 2051 but one or more remote instances are not put-disabled
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9 * * Release 4 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An MQ application for an MQ cluster * * queue returns MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED MQRC * * 2051 even though one or more remote * * instances are not put-disabled. * **************************************************************** When an MQ application connects to a Partial Repository Queue Manger to put a message to a Clustered Queue, the return code MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED MQRC 2051 is returned even though one or more remote instances are not put-disabled. This is caused by a certain combination of Clustered Subscriptions and Clustered Objects expiring at different times. If the Cluster Subscriptions for all the instances of a Clustered Queue that were put-enabled have expired and only Clustered Objects and Clustered Subscriptions for instances of the Clustered Queue that are put-disabled exist in the Partial Repostitory Queue Manger's Cluster Cache then no attempt to remake the Clustered Scubsriptions will be made and the return code MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED MQRC 2051 is provided to the putting application.
Problem conclusion
The code has been changed so that when a Clustered Queue name is looked up in a Partial Repository Cluster cache and all identified instances are put-disabled, it checks whether all Cluster Subscriptions are up to date. If they are not, they will be remade. In this APAR's problem state this has the result of ensuring that the Partial Repository has a complete view of all the valid Clustered Queue instances in the Cluster for that queue name and can re-assess if there is a valid put-enabled queue to put to or not.
