Error description

  • The message INZU661E THE LOG SERVER COULD NOT BE STARTED BECAUSE
OF AN INTERNAL ERROR. RC = 0xf00a003 is unduly issued when the
Db2 Log Reader sever is being started.
This occurs when all the following conditions are fulfilled:
    - the PARM parameter in the EXEC PGM=INZTOOLS statement
specifies the name of a member from a Db2 data sharing group
    - the SYSIN of the EXEC PGM=INZTOOLS statement specifies the
      START LOG SERVER command.

Note: the processing of the START LOG SERVER command continues
Log Reader Server regardless of the message INZU661E being
issued and can complete successfully. In case of failure, this
irrelevant message may be ignored during troubleshooting.

Local fix

  • none but starting the Log Reader server with the data sharing
group attachment name in the PARM parameter of the EXEC
statement prevents the misleading message to be issued. This is
also the recommended way to start the Log Reader Server when a
    data sharing group is involved.
