PH69684: CICS FAILS TO OPERATE AFTER ABEND 0C6/AKEA IN MODULE DFHDBAT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A task encountered a transaction abend ADCI while using the
  DBCTL interface. During the subsequent backout processing for
  this task, an abend 0C6/AKEA occurred, causing the CICS region
  to stop functioning properly. The region had to be cancelled and
  restarted to resolve the issue.
  
  This problem began occurring after the migration to CICS 6.2.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: While CICS is processing an abendADCI,  *
  *                      CICS abends with code 0C6/AKEA at       *
  *                      offset X'FFFFFFFF' in module DFHDBAT.   *
  ****************************************************************
  When CICS is processing an ADCI abend due to IMS returning a
  user abend 3303 response, for a DL/I request issued from an
  application program, CICS issues the following two messages.
  
  DFHAP0707 <applid> An abend (code 0C6/AKEA) has occurred in
  task related user exit program DFHDBAT.
  DFHAP0001 <applid> An abend (code 0C6/AKEA) has occurred at
  offset X'FFFFFFFF' in module DFHDBAT.
  
  The AP0001 message will result in a system dump.
  
  While CICS was processing the ADCI abend, a branch return
  address was corrupted resulting in CICS branching to address
  X'0000030B' incorrectly.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHDBAT has been altered to ensure the branch return address is
  saved and restored correctly.
