Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS *
    * who use IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA) *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides support for the IDAA *
    *                      7.5 feature of supporting automatic     *
    * updates on the accelerator for eligible *
    *                      Db2 schema changes.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    Starting with IDAA version 7.5, if the accelerator is associated
    with Integrated Synchronization replication and the added
    accelerator shadow table is involved in eligible Db2 schema
    changes, changes on the Db2 side are automatically synced on
    the accelerator, without needing to remove, redefine, reload, or
    re-enable on the accelerator. This change avoids extra
    processing in Db2 Admin Tool.

    For a list of Db2 schema changes eligible for auto sync, refer
    to
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/daafz/7.5.0?topic=operations-
    schema-changes

    When an eligible Db2 operation is encountered, the following new
    messages are displayed:

    ADB5282I The table to be dropped is associated with IBM
    Integrated Synchronization replication which supports automatic
    removal of the table from the accelerator. The <operation_name>
    operation will be skipped for table <table_name> on accelerator
    <accelerator_name>.

    ADB5284I *** This operation will be deferred until processing
    appropriate ALTER or DROP TABLE statements. If the table is
    associated with IBM Integrated Synchronization replication
    accelerator and is involved in eligible schema change operations
    on Db2, those schema changes are automatically synced up on the
    accelerator and the <operation_name> operation will be skipped
    on the accelerator.

    ADB5285I *** Resume previously deferred <operation_name>
    operation.

    ADB5287I *** INPUT STATEMENT WILL BE RUN AFTER <operation_name>
    OPERATION.
