    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CWWKE0701E: bundle com.ibm.zosconnect:  *
    *                      2.0.9.20250514-0943(212) and NPE in     *
    *                      ServiceManagerImpl.java.                *
    ****************************************************************
    An earlier problem with the embedded Liberty startup resulted in
    null values being passed to z/OS Connect in place of valid
    configuration values. This resulted in the reported
    NullPointerException being issued.

    The reported NullPointerException was a follow-on issue from an
    earlier Liberty problem. The server would not have started with
    the expected configuration but the NullPointerException should
    not have been raised.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • z/OS Connect has been changed to protect itself from receiving
    the identified null configuration values during startup and so
    avoid the reported NullPointerException in
    ServiceManagerImpl.java. Similar changes have been made to
    protect against null values being processed for other
    configuration values:
    allowChunking, bufferedLogging, cacheTokensWithJti, requestUrl,
    useBearerScheme

    The fix for this APAR is expected to be delivered by the PTF
    for z/OS Connect V3.0.103.0 (PH70973).
