    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. Deleted or renamed data sets do not *
    *                         appear in the SHOW=ACTIONS report.   *
    * 2. The audit report written to OUTFILE *
    *                         is truncated.                        *
    *                      3. Some repository records not          *
    * converted during migration to repo *

    *                      5. RACF abend 282-20 occurs when        *
    *                         updating a protected data set.       *
    *                      6. S0C1 abend occurs when using a       *
    *                         cataloged, non SMS-managed PDSE as a *
    * destination for member recovery. *
    *                      7. S0C1 abend when an exclusively       *
    * allocated data set is the target of *
    *                         a PROTECT command                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    1. Protected data sets which have been deleted or renamed when
       the started task was inactive do not appear in the
       SHOW=ACTIONS report.
    2. The audit report written to OUTFILE when WRITETOFILE is
       specified is truncated to 80 bytes.
    3. If a protected data set did not exist at time of migration to
       repository level 102, repository records for that data set
       were not converted. This caused SA78 abends when the
       protected data set was restored and later accessed.
    4. If a volume containing a protected data set was varied online
       after the STC started and an update occurred to a member in
       that data set, the STC would not log the update or create a
       backup of the updated member.
    5. A RACF abend 282-20 can occur when updating a cataloged
       protected data set.
    6. Change Tracker is unable to detect that a data set is a PDSE
       when it is not managed by SMS, but still cataloged.
    7. Change Tracker attempts to allocate a data set when
       protecting it in order to obtain the list of members. If that
       allocation fails, a S0C1 abend will occur.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. Deleted or renamed data sets now appear in the SHOW=ACTIONS
       report and are indicated as currently not existing.
    2. A new REPORT DD can now be specified and the full 121 bytes
       per line will be written to this file.
    3. Toleration for the records that were not converted has been
       added in order to prevent the SA78 abends.
    4. The STC will detect volumes that are varied online after the
       STC is started and process any updates to protected data sets
       on those volumes as expected.
    5. An invalid VOLSER value being passed to RACF when processing
       changes for cataloged data sets, causing the abend 282-20,
       has been corrected.
    6. Change Tracker now correctly determines that a data set is a
       PDSE if it's in the catalog but not managed by SMS. It will
       print the CYG201E error message in this case.
    7. Change Tracker now handles allocation failures gracefully,
       printing the CYG701W and CYG246W messages in this case.
