  Db2 provided exploitation of the asynchronous
  cross-invalidation (XI) feature to improve elapsed time
  performance by sending XI asynchronously when writing updated
  pages. With asynchronous XI, Db2 must drive a sync-up call to
  determine when asynchronous XI associated with cache requests
  have completed.
  
  If a group buffer pool (GBP) rebuild occurs before the sync-up
  call, there is no need to wait for the sync-up call to finish.
  It may cause an ABEND04E RC00C20225 in DSNB5SC2 diagnostic dump
  when a reason code for an invalid asynchronous XI sequence
  number is returned on a write to GBP request. If the GBP has
  been rebuilt, the asynchronous XI sequence numbers become
  invalid and all members of the data-sharing group that have
  pages cached in their buffer pools should have been notified
  that the pages have been invalidated. Therefore Db2 does not
  necessarily need to take above diagnostic dump.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 code has been changed to not take the diagnostic dump
  mentioned above if a GBP rebuild happened before the sync-up
  call for asynchronous XI.
