Error description

  • An 0Cx abend occurs on a JVM thread causing CICS to issue
DFHSJ1007 and phaseout the Liberty JVMSERVER. Once disabled CICS
issues DFHSJ1008 then re-enables the JVMSERVER to create a new
JVM. CICS will still re-enable the JVMSERVER even if CICS is
now quiescing which may delay shutdown of the region. BPXP018I
messages may be issued when the newly created JVM is terminated.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A JVMSERVER can be enabled during CICS *
    *                      shutdown.                               *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS region is shutdown. During shutdown a request is made to
enable a JVMSERVER using CEMT, the SET JVMSERVER SPI, or
by CICS because it is automatically disabling and re-enabling a
JVMSERVER that has gone into an inconsistent state (DFHSJ1007,
    DFHSJ1009, DFHSJ1010 or DFHSJ1011).

Although CICS is shutting down the request to enable the
JVMSERVER is accepted and proceeds. This may delay the shutdown
    of the region.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been updated so that an attempt to enable a JVMSERVER
during shutdown will be rejected. The SET JVMSERVER command
will return an INVREQ condition with a RESP2 of 200.

DFHSJ0914 will be issued with a new insert indicating that the
JVMSERVER is DISABLED because CICS is shutting down.
