    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
Information about the names of user symbols is not
currently available in the binary metadata, and is not
needed by IBM Automatic Binary Optimizer for z/OS when
using that product to automatically optimize COBOL
modules. Users of IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z Code
Optimization Advice are recommended to use this option
    to improve analysis results.

Temporary fix

Comments

  • The compiler was updated to provide the SMARTBIN(NAMES|NONAMES)
option. This option allows users to control the inclusion/
    omission of
information about the names of user symbols in the binary
    metadata.
