Error description
For an ATTLS worker task that does not have ESTAE recovery, if an ABEND occurs under this work unit (i.e. during TLS Handshake, etc.), then the ATTLS Group will fail (as per EZD2042I message output to SYSLOG). Typically, an ABEND in load module GSKS64 will be the trigger condition for this problem - symptom dump output documenting the ABEND will be present in the MVS SYSLOG. ATTLS group failure will result in connectivity failures for all subsequent traffic associated with the group. Each connectivity failure will have a corresponding 'EZD1286I TTLS Error' message with 'RC: 5018 Policy Mapping' in the MVS SYSLOG. Additionally, no dump will be captured for further diagnosis because ESTAE recovery was not established.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM z/OS Communications Server * * 2.5, 3.1, and 3.2 for IP: ATTLS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An ABEND occurring under a single ATTLS * * worker task can result in connectivity * * loss for all subsequent connections * * associated with that group. * * * * Furthermore, no SVC dump will be * * captured for the problem because there * * is no ESTAE recovery established for * * the task. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF. * **************************************************************** For an ATTLS worker task that does not have ESTAE recovery, if an ABEND occurs under this work unit (i.e. during TLS Handshake, etc.), then the ATTLS Group will fail, resulting in connectivity loss for all subsequent connections associated to the group. Additionally, there is no SVC dump captured to further diagnose the problem. The root cause for this issue is a lack of ESTAE recovery protecting the ATTLS worker task. This is caused by incorrect initialization of the input parameter list to the ESTAEX service at worker task creation time.
Problem conclusion
ATTLS has been fixed to correctly establish ESTAE recovery.
