• This APAR enhances the Db2 for z/OS IMS attach facility
  (ESAF) to support OTel trace context propagation from IMS
  applications connecting to Db2 for z/OS using the Db2
  IMS attach facility (ESAF).

  This APAR only provides the ability for the Db2 for z/OS
  IMS attach facility (ESAF) to support OTel trace context
  propagation from IMS to Db2.  Additional product and software
  updates, *which are not included in this APAR*, are also
  required to enable the OTel support and functionality.
  At a minimum, usage of the OTel functionality provided in
  this APAR also requires and is dependent on:
   - Db2 for z/OS OpenTelemetry (OTel) Distributed Tracing
     support initially delivered by Db2 13 APAR PH67971.
   - IMS OTel support, initially delivered in IMS TM 15.5 APAR
     PH62728.
