Error description

  • The Safeguarded Copy (SGC) and Automated Capture monitors
    may stop running for an LCP profile with the following related
    messages:

    GEOTRC - VPCELCPS: Safeguarded Copy monitoring inactive for x
    LCP management profiles
    GEOTRC - VPCEMON : Rescheduling SGC monitor timers
    GEOTRC - VPCELCPU: No SGC Monitor timers detected
    GEOTRC - VPCELCPS: LCP SGC Monitor scheduler serialization
             obtained
    GEOTRC - VPCELCPS: LCP SGC Monitor scheduler initialization
             continues in <domain>
    C DEGRANT AT 04 07.25.10:21:23,ID=SGCMI001,GMT,VPCEMONS
      ID=SGCMI001 TIMER

      TIMER
    - DSI034I COMMAND SCHEDULED BY AT/EVERY/AFTER COMMAND -
      '07.25.10:21:23,ID=SGCMA001,GMT,EVERY 000 01:00:00,
      ID=SGCME001,VPCEMONS ID=SGCME001 TIMER'
    - DSI201I TIMER REQUEST SCHEDULED FOR EXECUTION 'ID=SYSxxxxx'

    Since the ID field is not in a format that LCP expects, a new
    timer is created every time a Monitor1 cycle runs for every LCP
    management profile with an SGC and/or Automated Capture monitor
    set. These timers will not execute any valid commands and
    will simply fail to execute once the time elapses.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of GDPS LCP *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SGC and Automated Capture monitors fail *
    * to initialize and create multiple, *
    * malformed timers when trying to reset *
    *                      on a Monitor1 cycle                     *
    ****************************************************************
    If the default NetView LONGDATE format contains the period
    character ('.'), incorrect parsing of the datetime values used
    for setting the SGC and Automated Capture monitors will result
    in malformed timer construction. This causes multiple timers
    to be generated with invalid command and ID values and fails to
    start either of the expected monitors for that LCP management
    profile.
