Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Db2 AI for z/OS (Db2ZAI) 1.6.2 users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR addresses the problems * * described in the problem summary. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available * **************************************************************** This APAR addresses the following reported problems for Db2ZAI 1.6.2. System Assessment (SA): - The Liberty address space stops without an explicit stop command when Spark terminates the JVM unexpectedly upon failing to verify the Spark executor heartbeat. - A scheduled weekly system assessment incorrectly triggers daily system assessments. Distributed Connection Control (DCC): - DCC client information plots display incomplete data when the selected time range exceeds one hour. Data points beyond the one-hour mark are missing, resulting in unreliable visualizations for extended time periods. SQL Optimization (SQLOPT): - The explore function might fail when required data is not fully available during certain time intervals. Db2ZAI Administration: - The Db2ZAI table cleanup process might fail and be unable to recover as a result of an error occurring during internal data processing.
Problem conclusion
This APAR resolves the problems described above. This APAR also includes the following enhancements for Db2ZAI 1.6.2. SQL Optimization (SQLOPT): - The exploration summary on the SQL statement details page highlights the recommended access path for better visibility. - The SQL statement details page adds QUERYNO values for static statements. - The SQL optimization dashboard loads faster. Db2ZAI installation & Configuration: - The config.sh script optionally supports connecting to the metadata Db2 using a user ID and password, in addition to the existing PassTicket method. (Example: ./config.sh -a migrate -u <user> -p <password>) - The blockmanager port and blockmanager retry ports for Spark processes are assigned to explicit port values rather than random ports.
