APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a source program contains an 88-level item for a data
element defined with an implied decimal point (i.e. PICTURE
string contains a 'V') the TAZ COBOL parser fails.  It reports a
TAZED2506E error while attempting to open the Test Case editor.

Local fix

  • If the 88-level item is not referenced in the source program,
the client could modify the source program, removing the
offending 88-level item, to avoid the parsing error.

Problem summary

  • When a source program contains an 88-level item for a data
element defined with an implied decimal point (i.e. PICTURE
string contains a 'V') the TAZ COBOL parser fails.  It reports a

TAZED2506E error while attempting to open the Test Case editor.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in TAZ 1.0.4 and 2.0.0
