APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Status of ports for an ALIAS do not show during DDF startup
since the only message, DSNL314I, about a started ALIAS occurs
only once during a Db2 startup.

Local fix

  • Restart DDF for issue DSNL519I or DSNL523I messages.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available *
    ****************************************************************
During a DDF startup, there are no DSNL519I or DSNL523I
messages about the status of a port associated with a static
or started dynamic alias. The only message about the status
of an alias is DSNL314I which only appears during the very
first DDF start that occurs after Db2 is started. During
subsequent restarts of DDF (-STOP DDF followed by a -START
DDF), the DSNL314I message will no longer appear unless a
-MODIFY DDF ALIAS START|STOP|CANCEL command is issued against
    a dynamic alias.

Problem conclusion

  • Db2 has been changed to issue port status messages (DSNL519I
or DSNL523I) during the start of DDF for any static or started
dynamic alias which were defined with a port and/or secure
port value. The message explanations for messages DSNL519I
and DSNL523I are being updated to correctly list the possible
    port-type values for DSNL519I and DSNL523I. The port-type
value of a secure port is displayed as SECURE PORT and the
port-type value of the resync port is displayed as
RESYNC PORT. In addition, the explanation for message DSNL314I
is being updated to explain why the DSNL314I message is only
issued once during a Db2 startup.

The online product documentation for Db2 13 is updated
with the changed message explanations for the following
    messages:
    - DSNL314I
    - DSNL519I
    - DSNL523I
