PH66511: ERRORS IN CLASS 3 ACCOUNTING FOR MQPUT1 TO A TOPIC

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When putting to a topic (or an alias that points to a topic)
  there are some differences in the way that MQPUT and MQPUT1
  capture and record the class 3 accounting data which makes it
  hard to compare the values. In particular, MQPUT1 reports data
  against the wrong object. In some scenarios, MQPUT1 calls to a
  topic are recorded in the "other" API fields.

  *                      shows incorrect data values.            *

  When an MQPUT1 is made directly to a topic, the accounting
  record for the task does not include a WQ section for the topic.
  The data for the MQPUT1 call is added to the "Other" MQ calls
  section of the WTAS section. When an MQPUT1 is made to a QALIAS
  that points to a topic, a WQ section is created, but the object
  name contains the target queue for one of the subscribers.
  

Problem conclusion

• MQ has been changed to identify the correct topic name when
  collecting accounting data for an MQPUT1 call and record data
  for the call in the relevant MQPUT1 fields in the WQ section.
