• UNABLE TO DEFINE AN IPCONN RESOURCE WHERE THE APPLID BEGINS WITH
  A DOLLAR SIGN

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users.                              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When defining an IPCONN, an APPLID      *
  *                      starting with a $ within CEDA panels    *
  *                      fails with message:                     *
  *                      APPLID cannot start with $.             *
  ****************************************************************
  When you attempt to define an IPCONN resource in CEDA using an
  APPLID that begins with a dollar sign ($), CICS rejects
  the request and displays the error message: APPLID cannot start
  with $, indicating APPLIDs must not use $ as the first
  character.
  Similar validation exists when defining an IPCONDEF using CPSM
  BAS.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been changed to allow users to create or alter a
  IPCONN with an applid containing $, # or @ symbol as the first
  character.
