    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: See Error Description. *
    ****************************************************************
Optim presents the estimated tables' Row Count value based
    on tables' RUNSTATS value.
Such value, when present, may be affected by rounding or
    conversion errors falsifying the result.

Problem conclusion

  • Optim processing will be enhanced to provide better precision
    while presenting the RUNSTATS values.

A new primary and line command, STATS, will be introduced.

The Optim pubs will be updated to document the new commands.

The online help panel FOPTSTBL for the "Select Table or View to
Browse" panel will we be updated to say:

FOPTSTBL --------------------- Select Table or View -------HELP
    Command ===>

Select the table or view to edit or browse using the S line
    command.

The Type column indicates whether the object named is a Table,
View. Alias, Clone, History, MQT or Temporary table.
The RowCount column reflects the number of rows in the table as
of the last execution of RUNSTATS. It is blank for views or for
tables for which RUNSTATS has not been executed.
    >>Additional information about the number of rows of a table,
and reliability of the RUNSTATS value, may be obtained using
the STATS primary, or line, commands. <<

To see more information about the available commands, select the
    desired option:

1 BROWSE (available when BROWSE was chosen from the main
         menu.
2 EDIT (available when EDIT was chosen from the main menu)

      Functions List Cmds Scrolling
     ----------- --------- ----------
      3 OPTIONS 7 LOCATE 12 TOP
      4 SELECT 8 SHOW 13 BOTTOM
      5 END 9 SORT 14 UP
      6 CANCEL 10 FIND/RFIND 15 DOWN
                  >>11 STATS/STA<<

The new panel FOPTPCSC presented after the user selected 11 on
    FOPTSTBL will show:
    FOPTPCSC ------ Primary/Line Commands - STATS --------- TUTORIAL
    OPTION  ===>

The STATS command presents additional information about the
reliability of the table's RowCount value, based on RUNSTATS,
as presented on the list of tables, as well as the table
space's row count value from the TS'es Run Time Statistics
        (RTS).

                                  STAts

There are no operands. When the STATS command is used as a
primary commands, it alternates the list format between the
       one-line list format for the
selected table(s) and the expanded two-line format which
includes the additional RUNSTATS comments as well as the
RTS row count value and the number of tables in the TS.
When the STA, or ST, line command is used against a table,
a message will be issued to present the additional RUNSTATS
comments as well as the RTS row count value and the number
       of tables in the TS.

The RUNSTATS comments have the following meaning:
       o RUNSTATS: n/a
the RUNSTATS are not available for a table.
       o RUNSTATS: OK
the RUNSTATS value matches the value from RTS.
       o RUNSTATS: Not verified
the RUNSTATS value differs from the RTS value and there
are multiple tables in the TS contributing to the RTS
         value.
       o RUNSTATS: Out of range
the RUNSTATS value differs significantly from the RTS
value for a single table TS.
A status of n/a for the RTS value indicates that the RTS
value is not available for a specific TS or the user lacks
       authority to access such.
Note that the RTS value is cumulative for all tables for
       a specific TS.
The number of tables for such is being presented as
RTS: (nT) where n is the number of tables.
