Error description
Db2 HPU excessively consumes 31 bit memory and can subsequently terminate in abend when the following conditions are fulfilled : - the unload is performed in native mode - the BSAM method is used for either input or output datasets - parallelism of LDS read is in effect The bigger the number of partitions and the rate of empty partitions in the tablespace,, the more likely the issue is to occur.
Local fix
Disable the use of the BSAM method for both INPUT and OUTPUT, either at the step level with the SEQ_IO_METHOD option from the GLOBAL block or at the product level with the VUM039\IOMETHOD parameter.
