APAR status

Error description

• At MQ 9.4.1 CD with PRIMEPSA enabled, a recycle of the MQ
  subsystems results in AMS terminating with the titled symptom
  string. This APAR is taken to handle this where ABENDC78 results
  due to the invalid TCB address being passed to CPOOL build when
  PRIMEPSA is enabled.
  

Local fix

• Disable PRIMEPSA before starting AMS.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During AMS (Advanced Message Security)  *
  *                      startup, an ABEND C78-88 may occur,     *
  *                      causing the queue manager startup to    *
  *                      fail when the diagnostic tool IGVDGNPP  *
  *                      (also known as PRIMEPSA) is enabled.    *

  The AMS initialization routine incorrectly passes the contents
  of register 0 instead of the literal value 0. This results in an
  invalid TCB address being used under certain conditions, such as
  when IGVDGNPP is enabled. The issue stems from the incorrect
  assumption that register 0 would contain zero, which is not
  guaranteed. This ultimately causes the abend during startup.
  

Problem conclusion

• The AMS initialization code has been updated to explicitly pass
  the value 0 in both CPOOL BUILD macro invocations. This ensures
  that the correct TCB address is consistently used, preventing
  the abend and allowing AMS to start successfully even when
  diagnostic tools are active.
