Error description

  • MSGDFS4335E is issued and HDPC gets ABENDU4034 in DRF job when
    the DFSMDA member for the system data sets of the IMS catalog is
    created but the library containing that DFSMDA member is not
    specified in the FABPATH0 and FABPATHZ procedures.

    * USERS AFFECTED: IBM IMS High Performance Pointer Checker for *
    *                 z/OS Version 3 Release 1 (FMID=HPC2310)      *
    * users who run HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) in *
    * IMS Database Recovery Facility (DRF) jobs. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When you run HDPC under DRF jobs in IMS *
    * management of ACBs environment, you had *
    * to specify the libraries with the *
    * followings to the STEPLIB DD in the *
    *                      FABPATH0/FABPATHZ procedures:           *
    * - The IMS Catalog Definition exit *
    * - The DFSMDA member that the HLQ of IMS *
    * catalog system data sets is defined *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    Before applying the PTF of this APAR, and when IMS management of
    ACBs is enabled and you run HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) in DRF
    jobs, the libraries containing the followings had to be
    specified to the STEPLIB DD in the FABPATH0 and FABPATHZ
    procedures:
    - The IMS Catalog Definition exit
    - The DFSMDA member that the HLQ of IMS catalog system data sets
      is defined if it is created

Problem conclusion

  • After applying the PTF, you no longer need to specify those
    libraries to the STEPLIB DD in the procedures.
    HDPC automatically transfers the information about the libraries
    specified for the DRF master address space to the HPPC
    subordinate address space that is started by the FABPATH0 or
    FABPATHZ procedure, then allocates and uses them in the HPPC
    subordinate address space.

    The PTF of DRF APAR PH66008 needs to be applied to DRF.
