PH65786: ECSA STORAGE GROWTH AFTER HIGH NUMBER OF SERVER CANCELLATIONS CAUSED BY CELLPOOL LEAK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the server is cancelled, some WebSphere created cellpools
  are not deleted. If there is a high number of server
  cancellations, it my lead to noticeable ECSA storage growth.
  
  IPCS OWNCOMM shows high number of CPOOL extension of size
  x'000C8100' (800KB) - "SRBF Dynamic Area Cpool". These areas do
  not have an eye catcher.
  40+ server restarts may result in 9-13 of CPOOLs extensions
  allocations.
  Once getmained, the CPOOLs extensions do not get deleted (by
  design).

  When bbodpcn8.plx is called for bbossrva, it gets its dynamic
  area from a common area cpool because there is no BACB but on
  way out it returns the cell to a private area cpool because
  there is a BACB.
  The common area cpool is BBODBGVT_SRBF_DYNA_CPOOL.
  The private area cpool is bacb_CpoolID_2Page.
  

Problem conclusion

• Updated the code to check where the dynamic area was obtained
  and return it to the correct cpool.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
  8.5.5.28 and 9.0.5.24. For more information, see 'Recommended
