PH65532: ALT ON IMPLICIT TS IN FOREGROUND MODE DOES NOT WORK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Performing the ALTER on implicit table space in foreground mode
  causes error.
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  # Navigate to any implicit table space in the ADB21S panel.
  # Apply ALT line-command.
  # Don't use the Change Management if you are asked.
  # Make some change on the panel ADB21SAR, for example, SEGSIZE.
  Press NEXT.
  # On the panel ADB27CA press ALTOPT.
  # Choose option 1 (Analysis options) on the panel ADBP7OP.
  # Make sure the "Perform analysis in batch mode" option is set
  to NO. Change it if necessary.
  # Press PF3 twice to return to the ADB27CA panel.
  # On the panel ADB27CA press NEXT.
  # On the panel ADB27CTC select a choice 1 (Perform the DB2
  command and SQL statements in foreground).
  # SQL statements will not be executed. Instead, you will be
  returned to the ADB27CA panel.
  # If you repeat steps 9 and 10, you will get the error message
  "TBCREATE error:".

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An error occurs when executing the ALT  *
  *                      command in foreground (TSO) mode on an  *
  *                      implicit table space.                   *
  ****************************************************************
  If the ALT command is issued in foreground mode on an implicit
  table space, the SQL statement is not generated. When trying to
  generate the SQL statement again, the following error message
  is displayed: "TBCREATE error:".
  Because altering implicit table spaces is done with ADMIN ALTER,
  this action cannot be performed by using Db2 command and SQL
  statements in the foreground.
  The solution to the problem: ALT for implicit table spaces is
  performed by generating a batch job without the ability to
  select foreground mode.
