PH65528: DFHXM0001 ABEND AKEF IN DFHXMAT OCCURS LATE IN CICS SHUTDOWN

APAR status

Error description

• Very late during a normal CICS shutdown, CICS issues message
  
  DFHXM0001   An abend (code ---/AKEF) has occurred at offset
  X'277A' in module DFHXMAT.
  
  Shutdown hangs in the aftermath of this abend.  The AKEF abend
  occurs under a CIEP task. CICS trace show that DFHXMAT is
  attempting to attach a task; the client is IP_ECI.   Kernel
  error data shows that DFHXMAT is trying to call DFHMNOD to get
  origin data but the MN domain has already quiesced so the AKEF
  abend is issued.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHXM0001 with abend AKEF when a        *
  *                      CICS Transaction Gateway request comes  *
  *                      in over ECI during shutdown.            *
  ****************************************************************
  During CICS shutdown, if monitoring domain has already been
  quiesced when a CICS Transaction Gateway request comes in over
  ECI, message DFHXM0001 with abend AKEF will be issued. This is
  because CICS is not in a state to be able to process the CIEP
  transaction.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated so that the mirror transaction CIEP is not
  attached during shutdown.
