Error description

• The DEV and UCB panels show the device address but not
  the subchannel set. The subchannel set is needed to
  distinguish between primary and secondary devices.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DEV and UCB panels do not show          *
  *                      subchannel set                          *
  ****************************************************************
  The Device Activity (DEV) and Unit Control Blocks (UCB) panels
  show the device address but not the subchannel set for the
  device. The subchannel set is needed to distinguish
  between primary and secondary devices.
  
  For SDSF 3.1, new columns for the subchannel set and 5
  character device address (the subchannel set plus the device
  address) are needed.
  
  For SDSF V2R5, the DEV and UCB data gatherers need to obtain
  the subchannel set so it can be displayed when viewed from an
  SDSF 3.1 system.
  
  This APAR can be applied at any time but it will not be fully
  effective until it is applied on all systems in the sysplex.
  
  When running SDSF 3.1 and viewing a device on a V2R5 system,
  this APAR must be installed on both 3.1 and V2R5 for the
  subchannel set to be shown.  Subchannel set information
  is not shown for any device when viewed from a SDSF V2R5
  system.

Problem conclusion

• For 3.1, SDSF has been updated to add the SS (subchannel
  set) and SSUNIT (subchannel set device unit) columns to the DEV
  and UCB panels.
  
  For V2R5, the DEV and UCB data gatherers have been updated
  to obtain the subchannel set for a device.  This will appear
  when viewed from the SDSF 3.1 DEV and UCB panels.
