Error description

  • In CICS 6.2, CQPI and CQPO have been added in error to the
DFHCOMPK compatibility group. They are already in the DFHCOMPJ
compatibility group. They should not be in the DFHCOMPK group
too. Were they not there, you would not get the DFHAM4990
messages for them. CQPI and CQPO should be removed from the
DFHCOMPK compatibility group. In addition, adding DFHCOMPJ to
the information in Table 1 of the compatibility grid at https:/
    /www.ibm.com/docs/en/SSJL4D_6.x/upgrading/process/upgrade_regio
ns_share_csd.html,showing what groups should be used by CICS 6.1
a CICS 6.2 CSD (from the CICS Resource Reference manual quoted
    above).

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHAM4990 issued for CQPI and CQPO *
    * transactions if DFHCOMPK used. *
    ****************************************************************
DFHCOMPK can be used by a CICS 6.1 region when sharing a CSD
with a CICS 6.2 system. DFHCOMPK contains transaction
definitions for CQPI and CQPO. Since these transaction
definitions are now hard-coded within CICS as from 6.1,
attempting to install them from DFHCOMPK results in
    DFHAM4990 messages.
Note the same is seen if a customer incorrectly uses
the DFHCOMPK compatibility group when using a CICS 6.2
region. This is a user error as DFHCOMPK is intended for
lower releases of CICS that need to share the CICS 6.2 CSD.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCURDM and DFHCURDX have been changed to delete CQPI and CQPO
    from the DFHCOMPK compatibility group.

To correct the CSD the user will need to run DFHCSDUP with the
    following parameters specified:
    UPGRADE USING(DFHCURDM)
