PH65360: S0C4 IN ODBM THREADS DURING IMS SHUTDOWN DUE TO RELEASED MEMORY

Error description

• It has been found that if APAR PH61800 (Component ID: 5635A0600,
  Component Name: IMS V15)  has not been installed, an issue is
  exposed during IMS Control Region termination in the IMS STAP
  ODBM intercept module, that may cause the ODBM Region to ABEND
  S0C4 during IMS Control Region address space  termination. APAR
  PH65360 removes that exposure, by ensuring that IMS STAP ODBM
  intercept termination is completed before the IMS Control Region
  address space ends.
  

Local fix

• Ensure ODBM threads/connections are quiesced before issuing IMS
  shutdown command.

Problem conclusion

• During IMS start-up, AUI code is placed in module DFSDASP0
  section SCHDSECU (ODBM region)in order to obtain the USERID
  making the DLI call.
  Part of this code is the address of a 64bit area in common
  memory
  (acquired by AUI code within the IMS Control Region) that
  contains information regarding the processing region the DLI
  call is being made through.
  During IMS shutdown, it has been seen where the IMS control
  region has started termination and that 64bit common area has
   been released, but the ODBM region is still relying on that
  address, which then causes a S0C4 in the ODBM region and
  possible hangs during shutdown.
  This should only occur when the IMS control region is being
  shut-down, and there are ODBM threads that have not been
  quiesced.
