  Currently the IVP process does not support updating the ACBMGMT
  settings for an online IMS system (DBDC, DBCTL, and XRF). This
  will cause IVP to fail on IMS 15.6 and above for those IMS
  environments as Managed ACBs is required.
  

Problem conclusion

• This service introduces a new variable IXUACBMG, which is used
  to indicate the DFSDFxxx member CATALOG section setting for
  ACBMGMT for online IMS regions.  Where not already specified,
  the DFSDF=xxx parameter is added into either the PARM1 or PARM2
  list in the IMS startup JCL. If IXUACBMG=CATALOG is used, then
  the DFSDFxxx member specified in the IMS startup JCL has
  CATALOG=Y and ACBMGMT=CATALOG. If IXUACBMG=ACBLIB is used, then
  the DFSDFxxx member has either CATALOG=Y and ACBMGMT=ACBLIB for
  jobs needing access to the IMS catalog data base or CATALOG=N
  and ACBMGMT=ACBLIB for jobs that don't need access to the IMS
  catalog data base.
  
  For IMS release 15.1 to IMS 15.5, the value of this variable can
  be either CATALOG or ACBLIB.  For IMS release 15.6 or above,
  this variable must be set to CATALOG or IMS will abend with
  abend code 0071 and return messages DFS3505E and DFS629I. This
  variable is not displayed and cannot be set for DCCTL or BATCH
  environments.
