APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After successfully upgrading IBM Explorer for z/os from version
3.3.3b to version 3.4 the RSE started task still displays
version 3.3.3b.  When generating the FEK logs it also shows the
incorrect version 3.3.3b. FEKINIT will not be able to verify the

version when invoked.  The shell script version.sh can be run
from the unix command line and will confirm the correct version
as 3.4.

Local fix

  • It has been confirmed that this issue is version display problem

only and can be ignored.  IBM Explorer for z/OS 3.4 was
correctly installed and can be used without any adverse affects.

Problem summary

  • Leftover 3.3.x FEK version files were included in the upgrade
process from 3.3.x to 3.4.x streams.

Problem conclusion

  • Correct 3.4.x FEK version files will now override incorrect
versions.
