Error description

  • When recovering SDEPs with DRF PITR, if the IMS log (x'5953')
written when closing the SDEP is not included, DBLKFLG1 will not
be set to DBLKF1SDEP_FULL, and the PACI will not be closed, so
the SDEP utility will not be able to delete the SDEPs.

    ****************************************************************
The DEDB Sequential Dependent Delete utility (DBFUMDL0) checks
the following conditions to determine if an SDEP can be deleted:

DBLKF1 SDEP_FULL (SDEP CI full) of DBLK (DEDB DATA BLOCK) is ON.
PACI segment data is 'DEFAULT STOPRBA SEGMENT CLOSED'.

SDEPs that have been recovered by specifying a time in which
x'5953'log (*) is not included in the RCVTIME of DRF PITR do not
meet these conditions, the SDEP deletion utility issues the
following message and does not delete the SDEPs.
(*: x'5953'log is written when an AREA is closed.)

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR corrects the problem as follows:

If the FSE AP does not match the segment length, set
    DBLKF1SDEP_FULL to ON.
If the following conditions are met, it is judged to be a PACI
and 'DEFAULT STOPRBA SEGMENT CLOSED' is set.
RBA that is smaller than DMACSDRB (AVAIL RBA FOR NEXT SDEP SEG)
and the segment's TIMESTAMP is before DMACLBTS (LAST DELETED SDE
     SEG TS).
