    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Z Integrated Information Processor *
    * (zIIP) CPU usage statistics are *
    *                      unavailable for IFCID058, IFCID316,     *
    * and IFCID401 trace records as well as *
    *                      the DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE.          *
    ****************************************************************
    The absence of zIIP CPU statistics
    obscures statement-level CPU usage,
    making it difficult for users to
    determine an SQL statement's
    performance. As a result, users
    are at risk of not knowing they
    should modify their SQL queries
    or applications to ensure better
    performance from Db2 13.To address
    this issue, zIIP CPU usage statistics
    have been fully integrated into the
    DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE EXPLAIN table
    as well as IFCID058, IFCID316, and
    IFCID401 trace records.

Temporary fix

Comments

  • This APAR enhances the Db2-supplied stored procedure
    SYSPROC.ADMIN_EXPLAIN_MAINT, REXX execs DSNTXTA and DSNTXTB,
    and sample job DSNTESC to enable them to process the new
    STAT_ZIIP_CPU column added to the EXPLAIN table
    DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE.
