Error description

  • IMS user ABEND U0206 occurs after message IEC130I IMS DD
    STATEMENT MISSING in the IMS Administration Tool ATY@OBJU job,
    when the following conditions are met:
     - FUNCTION=CATPURG to delete obsolete instances
     - IMS management of ACBs is not enabled
     - IMS online system is inactive

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM IMS Administration Tool for     *
    *                 z/OS (FMID=HALC110) who perform deleting     *
    *                 obsolete instances by batch job.             *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS user ABEND 0206 (ABENDU0206) occurs *
    *                      in the deleting obsolete instances      *
    *                      because IMS DD statement is missing.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
    ****************************************************************
    IMS user ABEND 0206 occurs with "IEC130I IMS DD STATEMENT
    MISSING" message in the deleting instances batch job when all
    of the following conditions are met:
    
     - PGM=ATY@OBJU and FUNCTION=CATPURG in the ATYMSGI DD statement
       are specified.
     - IMS management of ACBs for the target IMS system is not
       enabled.
     - The IMS online system is inactive.
    
    The deleting instances JCL is generated in the following ISPF
    panels:
    
     - IMS Catalog Space and DBD/PSB Analysis > View DBD/PSB List
     - IMS Catalog Space and DBD/PSB Analysis > Submit and View
       Summary and DBD/PSB Detail Report > View Summary and DBD/PSB
       Detail Report > View DBD/PSB Detail Report
    

Problem conclusion

  • IMS Administration Tool has been modified to avoid ABEND 0206.
