Error description
You are running CPSM 6.2 and receive a DFHFC0519 message during startup: +DFHFC0519 APPLID Call to VSAM Catalog utility IGGCSI00 for dataset failed. Return code X'00000004' Reason code X'C6E2047A'. Upon inspecting the trace for this issue you see an INQUIRE_FILE against the EYUDREP followed by an INQUIRE_CATALOG with a blank DSNAME parameter, which fails with IGGCSI00_DETECTED_ERROR. AP 00E1 EIP ENTRY INQUIRE-FILE AP 0410 FCMT ENTRY - FUNCTION(INQUIRE_FILE) FILE_NAME(EYUDREP) AP 0411 FCMT EXIT - FUNCTION(INQUIRE_FILE) RESPONSE(OK) AP 00E1 EIP EXIT INQUIRE-FILE OK AP 2491 FCVC ENTRY - FUNCTION(INQUIRE_CATALOG) DSNAME() AP 2498 FCVC *EXC* - IGGCSI00_DETECTED_ERROR FUNCTION(INQUIRE_CATALOG) DSNAME() This is due to a race condition between CPSM opening the EYUDREP and this INQUIRE_FILE which is retrieving the dataset name from it, as the DSNAME of this file is only available once it is OPEN.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DFHFC0519 with reason code * * x'C6E2047A', may be seen during * * the start-up of a CMAS region. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF and recycle all CMAS regions. * * These can be done in any order. * **************************************************************** During CMAS startup, CPSM calls EYU0XDCE to inquire on the EYUDREP file and check the extent usage of the EYUDREP data set. This is so XDCE can produce message EYUXD1032 when extent usage has exceeded 70% of its available extents. This requires the file to have been opened prior to inquiring on the resource to retrieve the current data set name. This should occur due to the OPENTIME(STARTUP) attribute on the installed EYUDREP file resource. However if the file has yet to be opened by CICS, due to a slow down in this startup processing, the INQUIRE FILE call issued in EYU0XDCE returns a blank BASEDSNAME while completing successfully. This results in XDCE issuing a inquire_catalog with an invalid data set name being passed in, resulting in the DFHFC0519 error message.
Problem conclusion
Data repository initialisation has been improved, to ensure the EYUDREP file has been opened prior to XDCE being called to calculate extent usage, and further checks have added to the INQUIRE call against EYUDREP to prevent the error resulting in DFHFC0519.
