Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The jcicsxClient-1.0 and * * jcicsxServer-1.0 Liberty features will * * not install in a Liberty JVM server * * with the servlet-5.0 (Jakarta EE9) or * * higher feature installed. * **************************************************************** When enabling a Liberty JVM server with the jcicsxServer-1.0 feature installed in CICS, or when starting a local Liberty server with the jcicsxClient-1.0 feature installed whilst also using the servlet-5.0 (Jakarta EE9) feature, the Liberty server will fail to enable the jcicsxServer-1.0 or jcicsxClient-1.0 feature with the following message: CWWKF0033E: The singleton features servlet-5.0 and servlet-3.1 cannot be loaded at the same time. The configured features servlet-5.0 and cicsts:jcicsxServer-1.0 include one or more features that cause the conflict. Your configuration is not supported; update server.xml to remove incompatible features.
Problem conclusion
CICS has been updated so that the jcicsxServer-1.0 feature will install with servlet-5.0 (Jakarta EE 9) or servlet-6.0 (Jakarta EE 10) features. There is a new jcicsxClient-2.0 feature available from the Liberty Repository. This is compatible with Jakarta EE 9 and Jakarta EE 10. To use the new jcicsxClient-2.0 feature you need the fix for the following issue: https://github.com/OpenLiberty/open-liberty/issues/31741 This is part of fixpack 25.0.0.7. When using the jcicsxClient-2.0 feature locally, a warning message with text "CDI container not available" may be written to messages.log. This message does not affect the functionality of JCICSX and can be ignored. This is being investigated in https://github.com/OpenLiberty/open-liberty/issues/32897
