Error description

  • This APAR addresses multiple problems in subsystem cloning
    catalog processing code.
    1. In certain scenarios, while performing mass updates to a
catalog, a breakdown within catalog update protocols may lead to
the subsequent corruption of the CATINDEX component.

    2. CATINDEX problems might occur when a SHAREOPTIONS(3 4)
catalog has been recovered or reorganized, and RENAME or
BCSCLEAN is subsequently used to delete a large number of
catalog entries from the BCS that has an index at LEVELS=2 or
higher. This problem is not applicable for RLS catalogs.

    3. Minor fixes in error reporting module.
