Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z    *
  *                 Code Optimization Advice 2.1 or 2.2 who      *
  *                 experience an S0C1 job abend on module       *
  *                 CQIRIDT when running the Z Code              *
  *                 Optimization Advice IVP program or launcher  *
  *                 program.                                     *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An S0C1 abend in module CQIRIDT in      *
  *                      program BOZGLLL at offset 406 can       *
  *                      occur when running the Z Code           *
  *                      Optimization Advice IVP or launcher     *
  *                      program, and the SCEELPA library        *
  *                      allocation fails.                       *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The GO2 step of the IVP job or          *
  *                      launcher program runs the COBOL         *
  *                      program under the profiler.  When the   *
  *                      profiler fails to allocate the SCEELPA  *
  *                      library it mistakenly forces an abend.  *
  *                      The profiler attempts to allocate the   *
  *                      Language Environment libraries such as  *
  *                      SCEERUN, SCEERUN2, and SCEELPA to       *
  *                      provide more accurate statistics of     *
  *                      the COBOL Run Time  activity versus     *
  *                      the COBOL program activity. The code    *
  *                      incorrectly assumed that SCEELPA        *
  *                      allocation normally should not fail,    *
  *                      however, some installations restrict    *
  *                      access to some of the LPA/LLA data      *
  *                      sets and its possible that the          *
  *                      allocation will not be successful.      *
  *                      As such, an abend should not be         *
  *                      triggered in the case of allocation     *
  *                      failure.                                *
