Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS Recovery Solution Pack for z/OS * * Version 2 Release 1 ( FMID=HAHM210 ) * * IMS Database Recovery Facility users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When recovering HALDB by specifying * * RCVTIME and ADD IB, if some DBDS are * * determined to be unrecoverable due to * * the specified timestamp and FRD6022A * * messages are issued, then an S0C4 ABEND * * occurred in DRF MAS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** When recovering HALDB by specifying RCVTIME and ADD IB, if some DBDS are determined to be unrecoverable due to the specified timestamp and FRD6022A messages are issued, then an S0C4 ABEND occurred in DRF MAS (FRXVSTA2). If the DBRC determines that a part of the DGS (DBDS) in a HALDB partition is in error due to a RECON status and an FRD6022A message is issued, the entry for the DBDS in error is also present in the DRF Recovery List (RWCR), but the error entry is incorrect and is not processed correctly in the HALDB-related processing in FRXVSTA2 (the Init processing module for IB), which runs when an ADD IB is specified, since it is not designed for such a situation. So the entry in error is not processed correctly and ABEND 0C4 is occurred. In the same situation as above, when ADD PC is specified instead of ADD IB, U4034 ABEND occurs in HPPC processing (FABPATH0) and then DRF MAS ABEND with U4095. Note that these problems may occur not only for HALDB but also for DSG of FF DB.
Problem conclusion
FRXVSTA2 is changed to first check whether the entry in question is an error entry for the process of sequentially processing all RWCR entries, and if it is, to skip processing of that entry. FRXVSTA3 is changed to first check whether the entry in question is an error entry for the process of sequentially processing all RWCR entries for HPPC initialization-related processing, and if it is, to turn off the flag to call HPPC and to skip all subsequent HPPC-related processing for that entry.
