**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the IMS High Performance * * Change Accumulation Utility of IMS Recovery * * Solution Pack for z/OS Version 2 Release 1 * * ( FMID=HAHM210 ). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS HP Change Accumulation provides the * * following new functions for extended * * batch job started by PGM=HPCAMAIN: * * - The new parameter ASPREF= allows * * specifying the prefix of five * * characters of the starting task name * * in the subordinate address space of * * the standard job processing * * - Enable the site default of HPCSYSIN * * DD parameters * * * * This APAR also includes the following * * changes: * * - Message text of HPC1232E * * ( MSGHPC1232E ) * * - Remove the restriction that the first * * operand of the EXEC parameter of the * * HPCAMAIN program must be HPCA-id * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** This APAR provides the following new functions: - The ASPREF= parameter allows control over to the first 5 characters of the started task name of the subordinate address space activated by standard job processing This parameter can be specified as HPCSYSIN DD parameters. The operand of ASPREF= must be 1 to 5 characters. The first character must be alphabetic or special characters ($, #, or @). When ASPREF= is specified, IMS HP Change Accumulation uses the 8 character which is combination of the specified value and numbers as the started task name. If the ASPREF= parameter is omitted, the IMS HP Change Accumulation uses the name specified by the PROCEDURE NAME parameter for all started tasks in the subordinate address space. - Enable the site default of HPCSYSIN DD parameters The site defaults can be enabled by following steps: 1. Prepare the partitioned data set (PDS) where the site default member is stored 2. Create the site default member HPCASDxx where necessary parameters of HPCSYSIN DD are defined 3. Add the PROCLIB DD in the HPCAMAIN JCL and specify the PDS name that is prepared by Step 1 4. Specify the HPCASD=xx (xx: the suffix of member name) in the EXEC parameter of PGM=HPCAMAIN This APAR also includes the following changes: - Message text of HPC1232E The message text of HPC1232E is changed as follows: HPC1232E length of the operand value is invalid - Remove the restriction that the first operand of the EXEC parameter of the HPCAMAIN program must be HPCA-id IMS HP Change Accumulation has a restriction that the first operand of EXEC PARM can only take an HPCA-id. This restriction forces the users who only want to use site default to specify the HPCA-id. IMS HP Change Accumulation removes it so that HPCA-id is not forced when specifying any parameter to the first operand of EXEC PARM.
