PH63450: ABEND 0C4 UNLOADING AN IMAGE COPY IN BSAM MODE

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An unload can terminate in abend (of unpredictable code among
  which ABENDS0C4) when the following conditions are fulfilled :
  - the data is unloaded from an image copy (COPYDDN option)
  - the input image copy is not a FlashCopy and does not need to
    be sorted (non-inline image copy and INLINE option not
    specified)
  - zIIP processors are used to process the unload (i.e. messages
    such as INZU313I THE process PROCESS USES ZIIP PROCESSORS are
    issued)
  - the method to read the image copy is BSAM, method reported by
    the follwing message
  INZU666I BSAM METHOD IS USED TO ACCESS TO THE SEQUENTIAL INPUT
  IMAGE COPIES AS REQUESTED BY SEQ_IO_METHOD OPTION IF ANY OR
  VUM039/IOMETHOD PARMLIB PARAMETER OTHERWISE
  

Local fix

• request the QSAM method be used to read the image copy by
  specifying IO_SEQ_METHOD INPUT(QSAM) in the GLOBAL options
  block.
