Error description

  • Missing ADBSYSPT DD statement in the ADBTEP2 JCL step when JES3

If the user has not displayed the Db2 Admin Tool batch
parameters panel (ADB2UPA), the parameter to include ADBSYSPT DD
in the ADBTEP2 JCL step, which is required for JES3, is not yet
initialized. As a result, the statement, //ADBSYSPT DD SYSOUT=*,
is not be included in the generated JCL.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a user on a JES3 system has not used *
*                      the Db2 Admin Tool batch parameters     *
*                      screen (ADB2UPA, option P.BP), then the *
*                      expected ADBSYSPT DD statement is       *
*                      missing from the generated ADBTEP2 job  *
*                      step.                                   *
****************************************************************
When executing on a JES3 system, this PTF ensures that ADBSYSPT
DD is used by ADBTEP2 in case a user has not ever used the batch
parameters screen of Db2 Admin Tool (ADB2UPA).
