    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message "BAQR1143E: Internal server *
    * error" is reported for API requesters, *
    *                      due to a NullPointerException.          *
    ****************************************************************
    A z/OS Connect server was configured so that an API requester
    required a locally generated JWT but ran under an
    unauthenticated link user ID. Running this API requester under
    the default unauthenticated user ID resulted in the
    getCallerSubject() method call returning null.
    Null is a valid response on the getCallerSubject() method call
    and it should be handled appropriately and a
    NullPointerException should not be thrown.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • z/OS Connect has been changed to report the following message
    when the getCallerSubject() method call returns null in the
    reported scenario:

    BAQR1408E: The SAF unauthenticated user ID <user ID> is not
               defined correctly or does not have READ access to the
               SURROGAT profile <profile_name>.

    The fix for this APAR is expected to be delivered by the PTFs
    for z/OS Connect V3.0.97.0 (PH67751).
