PH63088: IMAGE COPY FUNCTION WILL SUPPORT IMAGE COPY CREATION OF CATALOG ALIAS DATA SET

APAR status

Error description

• After activating IMS managed ACBs, IMS High Performance Image
  Copy fails with U3944  and message "+GEX3510E DFS3CATQ FAILED
  WITH RC=00080004 RSN=00040000 FUNC=GET   IN FABJMACB" while
  trying to take an image copy of the IMS Catalog. When
  deactivating managed ACBs, the image copy can be taken without
  any problems.
  Image Copy function will support image copy creation of Catalog
  alias data set in this APAR.

  IMS HP Image Copy cannot get definition of IMS CATALOG database
  defined by ALIAS name in IMS manament ACBs environment because
  it used old IMS DFS3CATQ macro before PH39094.
  

Problem conclusion

• HPIC has changed to use the DFS3CATQ macro as reflected in IMS
  APAR PH39094 and to use the USEALIAS option of the macro.
