APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The message appears with the TRANSID insert using the
originating transaction from the origin data and not the actual
transaction that's executing when the issue occurs.

The documentation for the message does not clarify that. This
can cause confusion for support staff as the region in question
did not even have the listed transaction installed in it.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages contain the origin transaction *
    * from the originating data, rather than *
    * the actual transaction in the TRANID *
    *                      insert.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    Messages DFHSO0300, DFHSO0301, DFHSO0302, DFHSO0303, DFHSO0304,
    DFHSO0305, DFHSO0310, and DFHSO0399 output the origin
transaction's ID in the TRANSID insert from the originating
data. This may be different to the currently running
transaction and cause confusion. The messages have been updated
to specify the origin and current transaction IDs.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been updated the messages now include both the
origin and current transaction IDs for messages DFHSO0300,
    DFHSO0301, DFHSO0302, DFHSO0303, DFHSO0304, DFHSO0305,
    DFHSO0310, and DFHSO0399.

The IBM Documentation for CICS will be updated to reflect the
    change to messages DFHSO0300, DFHSO0301, DFHSO0302, DFHSO0303,
    DFHSO0304, DFHSO0305, DFHSO0310, and DFHSO0399. The new insert
of TRANID to show both the origin and current transaction IDs.
