Error description

  • Immediately after control is given to CICS a dump is taken on
message DFHSR0606 Abend (code B78/AKEB) has been detected.
Kernel Domain is reporting an error in CICS module DFHDTRI.
Systrace shows the Storage release call is issued from
DFHDTAOR+0BC executing in Key 8.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MVS abend B78 during CICS startup       *
*                      caused DFHSR0606 and CICS failed        *
*                      to initialise.                          *
****************************************************************
A CICS region is starting up and browsing through FCT
definitions. An FCT for a file that needs to be open at startup
is found and it is defined as remote. DFHDTAOR is driven and
this calls DFHDTRI which issues a DTSVC call. This call fails
and DFHDTRI enters its cleanup routine, attempts to do a
corresponding storage release for the previously obtained MVS
storage. The storage release fails and MVS takes the B78 abend.
The region startup fails and CICS is terminated.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • DFHDTRI has been changed to correct the storage release command.
