PH62688: FIELDS IN THE WTID SMF DATA CAN BE BLANK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If accounting trace is started before the channel initiator is
  started then fields in the WTID SMF data can be blank. This
  includes the WTIDOPID field which is used by MP1B to report on
  the Userid in TALL output for channel initiator (MOVER) data.
  
  In each instance identified where the WTIDOPID field is
  incorrectly blank, the correct value is the CHIN started task
  UserID. The UserID reported for channel related SMF data is
  always correct given their current understanding of the problem.
  
  There are also scenarios which lead to the WTIDOPID field being
  blank when accounting trace is started after the channel
  initiator. This problem will also be addressed by this APAR.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The WTIDOPID can incorrectly contain a  *
  *                      blank userid value for connections from *
  *                      IMS MPP/BPP dependent regions and the   *
  *                      channel initiator when collecting SMF   *
  *                      116 accounting records.                 *
  ****************************************************************
  When producing SMF 116 accounting records, the WTIDOPID field
  is sometimes incorrectly set to blanks.
  This can affect:
  - Connections from the channel initiator that are not associated
   with channels.
  - Connections from the channel initiator that do not issue any
   MQI requests
  - Connections from IMS dependent regions that have been through
   ESAF Signon processing
  

Problem conclusion

• The collection of SMF 116 accounting records has been changed
  to set the WTIDOPID field for channel initiator tasks that
  either don't issue MQI requests, or are not associated with
  channels.
  When an IMS dependent region signs on the associated userid is
  now correctly propagated to the WTIDOPID field for associated
  MQI requests.
  Note that the WTIDOPID field for internal requests issued by the
  MQ IMS adapter prior to signon processing can be expected to be
  blank.
