Error description

  • IBM Developer for z/OS - IDz - v16.0.4

When debugging in IDZ, one can write SET INTERCEPT ON command
in the Debug Console to show the output of DISPLAY orders.
If the string is in Hebrew - the Hebrew letters are displayed
in reverse order.
For example: the string אבג is displayed גבא.
The problem is only on Debug Console.
In SYSOUT Hebrew is displayed correctly.
Problem can be seen in v15.0.5, 15.0.8 and 16.0.4

* Eclipse, and the resulting string is in a bi-directional     *
* language, such as Hebrew, then the Debug Console incorrectly *
* displays the letters in reverse order.                       *

Problem conclusion


    

  • The Debug Console was updated to check for bi-directional data
returned from z/OS Debugger and will present letters in the
expected order.

This problem is fixed in versions 16.0.6 and 17.0.0 for the
following products:
- IBM Debug for z/OS
- IBM Developer for z/OS
- IBM Developer for z/OS Enterprise Edition
