Error description

  • When running ALT on tablespace to convert from EBCDIC to UNICODE
and using UNLOAD option SPANNED = YES, the run job causes LOB
records to be discarded. This outcome is accompanied by error
message:
"DSNU318I DSNURWBF - RECORD (#) WILL BE DISCARDED DUE TO INVALID
COLUMN SPECIFICATION "

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The ALT command causes LOB objects      *
*                      to be discarded when using the UNLOAD   *
*                      utility option SPANNED YES.             *

When running ALT on a table space that contains a table with a
LOB column in order to change the CCSID from EBCDIC to Unicode
and the UNLOAD SPANNED option is set to YES, the LOB
objects that are unloaded from the table will be unintentionally
discarded.
